“I have been coming to Jen for the past 5 years – initially for a regular massage, which is always fantastic, but more recently I have been having regular Japanese Needling sessions. My preference now is for the needling therapy simply because it addresses the “total me” and has a more sustained, long-term effect. I really feel that needling helps create a real core strength, a balance that helps me deal with everyday (and not so everyday) stresses. I can now recognise when I need a top-up and I’m aware, during the treatment, of a slow wave-like flow that travels across me, leaving a sense of balance and equilibrium. That’s a purely individual response but that’s how I can best describe what happens to me. At a second level the needling has helped manage more specific issues – in fact one problem group of muscles in my neck that massage could not seem to remedy is now managed significantly better with the needling. After a particularly nasty gastro bug, I had struggled to regain my appetite and again the needling was effective … immediately. And I admit to struggling with anxiety and tension but this is much more containable and easier to manage with the needling. I really feel that the needling has immense beneficial effects and it provides a great opportunity for you to really listen and reflect on how your body feels and reacts. Jen is such an empathetic listener and works really hard to find the right treatment pathway. I feel now that this is an intrinsic part of the Looking After Me Plan, which is why I wholeheartedly recommend the Japanese Needling.”
