“iRest Yoga Nidra is an evidence based ancient transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops an inner sanctuary of well-being and equanimity that underlies all circumstances you may encounter in your life.” We will do this deep relaxation 3 times during our retreat

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines physical postures and movements, breathing techniques, and meditation to promote health, balance, and relaxation.

Howard will lead classes in  “Open Sky Qigong”, with restorative breathing practices, guided meditation, and gentle movement with mindfulness.

Ayurveda is a truly holistic and integral medical system that treats human beings as a ‘whole’, which is a combination of body, mind and soul. Ayurvedic treatments bring the body back into balance for optimum wellness.

Essential oils are highly concentrated, natural plant extracts that are used in aromatherapy to promote physical and emotional
well-being.

Howard is bringing particular plants from his property (thoughtfully selected) this year to our essential oil workshop.

These plants have a particular frequency that can be felt and combining them in the session with the frequency of the essential oils will be a unique experience for everyone!!

Our classes are tailored for all levels, from the complete beginner up.

Enjoy our restorative poses and calming yin sequences or spice it up with some active postures

Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese form of therapeutic massage that uses pressure, stretching, and other massage techniques to help the body and mind relax.

Shiatsu or Essential Oil massage is available at your own cost on the retreat. Please make a booking for one so you don’t miss out.

A singing bowl sound bath is a type of sound healing therapy that uses the vibrations created by singing bowls to create a calming and meditative atmosphere. The goal of a singing bowl sound bath is to help relieve stress, reduce tension, and promote relaxation.

This will be performed by Vanessa Beckitt. She has a special ability to help us connect with our vibrational self and the vibrational energy of our surroundings.

Testimonials

This Transformational Retreat was really excellent. All the sessions that were included were valuable, informative and healing. Jenn and Howard’s teaching was very clear and of a high quality. The sense of connection to each of the participants was lovely to experience, everyone was so kind, caring and thoughtful. The Ayuvedic food was delicious- a special thanks to Mahesh. It was easy to sink into a deep rest and relaxation in the stunning natural environment and the “Old world” hotel. Many thanks to Jen, Howard and Mahesh.

This is my third seasonal retreat with The Karma Studio and I think I’m addicted! Jenn, Howard and Mahesh are wonderful facilitators, they make the weekend flow smoothly as well as making all our activities and food educational and enjoyable. Apart from the structured activities there is plenty of spare time for walks, massage treatments (On site) and general “me time “! A wonderful experience not to be missed!!!

Janet

You created a safe nurturing space for me to explore my thoughts, feelings and emotion’s supporting me to get back into my body. I feel like I’ve been away for weeks and have been given so many tools and ideas to explore further over the coming months. I know I will never be the same following on from these 3 days and I truly feel like this is the beginning of a whole new way of being for me. I can’t thank Jennifer, Howard and Mahesh enough!

My once empty cup is now OVERFLOWING!!

When you embark on a retreat you expect a certain standard of accommodation and comfort. A retreat with the Karma Studio certainly offers this – and so much more! As a busy woman balancing a full-time job, study and caring responsibilities, I was reluctant to take the plunge and commit to a 3-day experience, knowing there’s a lot of these retreat experiences touted around out there. In addition to that I was concerned, as a woman with disability, that I may not be able to participate fully, may not fit in and would feel like an outsider. Those fears were so quickly resolved! The retreat experience saw me accepted, welcomed and supported every step of the way without it feeling at all intrusive. I could participate in every activity and found common ground with the other participants. It was truly transformative. I believe in the saying “if it’s to be it’s up to me”. But many times our world does not create the conditions for us to realise this. This retreat showed me that there are fellow travellers who will support you and you can also support them through care and connection. It empowered me to take the steps I need to take for healing and transformation.

Thanks Jenn, Howard and Mahesh.
